Art by Offenders is the first exhibition of artwork and writing from prisons, secure hospitals, secure children's homes and by people on probation in Scotland to be curated by serving prisoners. This challenging and thought provoking collection of painting, drawing, sculpture and creative writing was selected from entries to the 2011 Koestler Awards.

CURATING THE EXHIBITION

Young women from HM Prison & Young Offender Institution Cornton Vale were invited to take part in an intensive training programme to give them the skills to select the exhibits and curate the exhibition offering a unique perspective from the only women's prison in Scotland.
This project has been made possible by funding from
The Co-operative as part of their commitment to Inspiring Young People.
