2008 Exhibition Opening

The official opening of the Koestler Exhibition is the biggest annual event in the field of arts and criminal justice in Britain. This year 700 people came to the Royal Festival Hall on 3 October. Several of the exhibited artists were there with their families - either after release from prison or on special day licence. There were speeches by:-
  • Sir Joseph Pilling, Chair of the Koestler Trust, former Director General of HM Prison Service
  • Frances Done, Chair of the Government's Youth Justice Board
  • Shan Maclennan, Head of Learning & Participation, Southbank Centre
  • Dean Woodward, Head of Lambeth Youth Offending Service.
